Q. Who can apply for the 18+ Card?
A. Anyone 18 years or older

Q. Where can I pick up an 18+ Application form?
A. Any NZ Post or Take Note outlets in the country. For a listing of your closest outlet please go to www.nzpost.co.nz and click on the shop locator. You can also pick the forms up at some Lotto outlets throughout the country, you will need to take them to a NZ Post or Take Note outlet to get them checked and processed.

Q. Will I need any exsisting ID?
A. Yes. You will need one form of Primary ID either:

  • Passport
  • Full Original Birth Certificate
  • NZ Drivers Licence

If you don’t have one of these forms of ID you will not be able to apply for an 18+ Card.

Q. Where can I locate a Justice of the Peace?
A. In your local Yellow Pages. Or click on www.yellowpages.co.nz

Q. When can I apply for an 18+ Card?
A. Anytime ON or AFTER your 18th Birthday.

Q. How long will it take for me to receive my 18+ Card?
A. Aproximately 2-3 weeks. There is no way of a guaranteed fast track of 18+ cards. If you’ve been waiting longer than this, please contact us on 0800 500 503.

Q. How do I get a replacement card?
A. You need to complete the whole 18+ Application form.

The card will cost you a further $20 and it will take aproximately 2-3 weeks to process.

Q. How much does an 18+ Card Cost??
A. $20.

Q. Who can complete the Identifier Statement?
A. Anyone who:
  • Has known you for over 12 Months
  • Isn’t a relative or spouse
  • Is over the age of 20
  • Doesn’t live at the same address as you
  • Has an Current Passport or NZ Drivers Licence
