Attention All New Plymouth Licencees It has come to our attention that the Sacred Heart Girls' College School Ball tickets are very similar to the design layout of the HANZ 18+card. Though there are a number of obvious differences and the overall quality of the production does present itself as a fake, the school ball tickets may cause confusion and potentially be used as an authentic form of ID.
Please advise your staff to be stringent with their ID checks, especially during this coming weekend due to the large number of school ball tickets that are in circulation. After discussion with Sacred Heart Girls' College, they have officially withdrawn these school ball tickets and will be punishing any students that attempt to use them as a form of ID.
For any questions please contact HANZ Regional Manager Chris Hince on 0800 500 503 or refer to the HANZ Guide to Checking Identification - 10.5 (must have your membership no. and password ready to view online).

New Plymouth Inner City Accord Update The New Plymouth Inner City Accord has continued with its regular forum, the group has successfully identified a number of issues and explored appropriate resolutions. Additionally, strong relationships between licensees and the authorities have been forged.
Members in South Taranaki need to be aware that the Police have indicated clearly their focus for the foreseeable future will be onsite intoxication.
Members are advised to keep clear records and video footage of any police visits, such that, informed discussions may take place should any issues arise.
Hawera Push Bike Pub Crawl The Hawera Push Bike Pub Crawl attracted heavy police attention and reaction this year. A number of members have been forced to defend themselves against charges laid in the District Court as a result. HANZ has approached the District Council in an effort to create an inclusive working group that can address the issues before they arise.
