The Hospitality Association, in partnership with HSI has just launched the latest version of its HANZ Training Passport, winner of the 2007 Project of the Year Award from the Australasian Not-For-Profit Network. This is a continuing initiative to provide bite-size, cost effective training to industry operators and their staff. This year’s Training Passport sees a major revamp to make the training products even easier to access. Particularly exciting is the introduction of online learning for the Licence Controller Qualification and for Gaming Harm Minimisation. These products are designed to make it easier for the industry to access training for their staff. Other products will continue to be delivered in a face to face schedule around the country. These include a range of products, all of which have a critical impact on different parts of the hospitality business.
Food costing is a hot topic right now as hospitality operators are challenged with rising input costs and a reluctance to address the hard issue of price rises. It is expected that many operators will take the opportunity to refresh themselves by attending this module to ensure they’ve not only costed right, but also priced right and delivered a profitable kitchen.
The Government are soon to introduce legislation reviewing the Private Investigators and Security Guards Act, which is expected to require mandated training for door staff. The HANZ Training Passport again provides this excellent training for your door staff to ensure that they not only know who to keep out, but how to keep them out in safe way.
Customer Service as always is paramount for those hospitality businesses who are looking for significant repeat custom. GreetNZ is a great product which has been developed and tailored specifically to meet the customer service training needs of New Zealand’s hospitality industry. GreetNZ is again on the HANZ Training Passport menu.
Increased productivity is critical for increased profitably and without training this cannot occur. All hospitality operators are encouraged to take advantage of the HANZ Training Passport, either online or by booking a place in a programme near you.
